No recourse Or recall Just free fall It's because, you decide to take that jump without a parachute And in deep thought, surrender to passions You had kept so far repressed they're unfamiliar when you look at them Comprehending this life's too hard to fathom, Well whatever it is I’m gonna live it All this love that I have, I’m gonna give it You felt the pain, now see the gain, and through it all, remain the same Or at least to an extent, staying a polished intellectual’s not paying the rent So I, learned your hustle, and I’ll play your game, and through it all Remember never to change, this fire, burning inside of me And not let it put out or usurped by this society Cause that shit is death, when you fight for every breath Those that see it take advantage; don’t know what it is to help Well take it all, take it all, I’ve nothing left for you My shit’s piled in a living room corner, my life is destitute The woman that gave you life sees you in these lows. Her sacrifice was bold but what the fuck was it for You thought you had the essence of an answer; you don’t think that you know Until in the presence of a dancer, you find it’s to let go Once in possession of nothing, you appreciate everything, heaven rings Your song’s so happy even the devil sings The food you eat, the sleep you get’s the best you’ve had, You realize, shucks it’s not so bad, or maybe it is It’s not really for me to know, it’s your life, you wanna reach these heights Then you need to grow, (remember) you resent this cycle you gotta break it. You wanna find the meaning of life, you create it Momma I’m saying sorry, this city has hardened me, I don’t always love like I could, please pardon me, I came here your boy Not saying I'm a man but I’ve realized life happens regardless of your plans Hooked up with Ran Dosis Told me there was no purpose So what's the prognosis? They say sky is the limit, what of hearts too timid To seek for their aim? Despise the infinite and the claim Collective pride restricted guided to follow inane Why the gift of potential if we aspire to same? Guess that's the name of the game And it’s too late to undo how it’s wired the brain, Kills the fire inside, watch fear extinguish the flame And we choke on the fumes in the pursuit of mundane (things) This journey’s cold, do we require such pain? Must we admire those that conspire with strings? Or is the chalice of truth spiked with poisonous things? So we’re drunk off the vessel this distraction brings Even my distractions have distractions So who I am, I'm not ready to be, not ready to be Behind these doors I can't see is the journey to my destiny (destiny) Chorus 1 I walk alone and leave my home My heart is a stone and I walk alone (x2) And the saga continues, of how we've started to misuse This planet we've been granted, leave me stranded With these issues, when the damage of organic can’t be managed Like we planned it, and we panic, what it vanish, the insecurity continues... Man I wish we knew we knew better, you've man handled my trust love notes Reduced to a letter and the fear we felt never Reduced to forever, this mood’s so fucked up it changes the weather, I'm stuck thinking, what could be better? To have such power, I'll devour any attempt or endeavor, To backtrack or un-sever, any bond that I've rendered obsolete, To compete is the past future and present(er) of pain Don't cry now we have so much to gain, and don't ask why Remember, it’s just the name of the game, Until you decide its better for you and I to seek change But I can't you know why this is our last exchange, you walk alone Chorus 2 You walk alone and leave your home Your heart is a stone you walk alone (x2) Chorus 1 (x2) Bridge When you’ve outgrown the world that’s raised you, Walked off the path they laid for you, And freed the passions enslaved by cruel, ambitions, you Not by choice, or by circumstance, but by destiny Walk alone…. Chorus 1 (x4)

Facade 03:57
I’ll break your Façade Reface your Façade (x6) All the world’s a stage A mass masquerade Erase your Façade Perception is God Johnny Hobbes So I break your Façade Obliterate your Façade For what’s at stake to be two-faced Is a mistake, and kinda odd To exploit with a suped up face When on the job, just to save it, you replace With a new one, run and hide And this permeates through to your victims ‘Cause we reside In a state where we’re forced in Façade’s to survive Until the fake becomes the real, the truth becomes disguise Consumed by the mask, a spectacle; paralyzed Unable to turn a profit, ‘til you’ve thoroughly victimized Half the souls on the planet, I’m thoroughly mystified By how easily you view decay, like it’s a prize Can’t distinguish between pleasure and anguish You realize, everything ‘pon which you’ve based your life Has been a lie, and manipulates the masses of people Into demise, until a movement rises from ashes to set aside New prospects for humanity, it’s this or suicide, So Chorus Reason You chased an illusion, a dog and his tail Monetary gains the expense of the world So I got from behind a desk a spectator Cause I don’t feel like having a dictator Good business lookin’ more like, extinction Don’t appreciate us, so before we reach Permanent, uh, good riddance I ignore your ignorance So I progress, the revolution is upon ya (so) Get used to it, so I use the third eye in this optical illusion Peal the curtains of your Façade, revelation. All the world’s still a stage Mass masquerade, but not for long Turn the page in your Face Book zeitgeist in your Face looking great Time-geiz is about Facelifts applied to your main frame Look deep down the rabbit hole inside of you See what this world is made of Screen writing change what people are afraid of Switch (switch) your channel Photoshop yourself from mammals To multi-layered channels In and of itself away from gambles Chorus Key Soto Hey, you dropped your mask let me pick it up Oooooh, you feelin’ naked and can’t live it up, We gotcha back, we’ll throw ours away Celebrate the nudist parade today (x2)

Mambo Tango 04:18
(Grind Beneath The Grind) Chorus You see how easy it is To write us off When we re-rewrite history Revolution’s popped off And we become that force That we’ve been waiting for We’ve been waiting for (x2) I fell in love with hip hop, 2001 That’s like two years after Dre dropped 2001 You tell me who’s more important Someone with a vowel or gun? The answer to that, the truth, J Hobbes is the one So AK’s, just these words I spray, like bubonic plague They’ll catch on for days, and I can’t wait for the day, I get bigger The only way, I get the world to hear my scripture ‘Till that day comes, I guess I’m at one, to keep it sub-underground In a town that’s no fun, shit so far underground I look around There’s no sun, know there’s a path for me to take but I look down I see none I’m quite loquacious; it’s bodacious, how I lift rhymes off the pages Give it to you so crucial that you think no one can save us The truth though is brutal, I spit more than the usual Evolution of a duel, it’s funny how nothing changes Chorus (x2) Do me a favor This alienated labor that you call a job examine it Don’t you think it seems kinda odd that the thing you need to sustain your life Can be taken from you so quick you couldn’t put up a fight? The company to which you’re loyal and expect benefits Treats you like an externality that doesn’t exist, so basically like shit Maybe you never liked it, but found it helpless to quit, It’d be reckless you have kids, you’re trapped in a system that has you Kept as a victim the only way that you’re winning Is if you keep on spending, but for that to even happen The bankers have to keep lending, keepin’ you further descending to an Eternal recession, you check out a politician, “I’ll vote for something’s that’s different” you check out their positions notice there’s not much difference But the media makes it seem like you must no be seeing right, It’s obvious they’re opposites, something’s wrong it probably is Chorus (x2) Gone are the days of colonized times, but Left are the battles for the colonized mind A redesign of some kind I must say it’s ‘bout time For the zombies to become human again, or Maybe it’s too late, people have sealed their fate Self interest overwhelmed, peace pushed to another realm Locked in the redundancy, constant pursuit of currency Seen as something that’s great, I wonder what does it take For spirits to re-connect? Break out of prisons they’re kept? An awareness beyond before’s be reached if we reset? Pre-leached by all the debt? But we’d endure regret for our actions So let’s instead, leave it for those up next, and here we are Heard by all understood by few recited by many Words of a generation with burdens to heavy, strength is a rarity You wonder how we manage to carry, ‘til the pen hits the pad And the pain becomes therapy Chorus (x2)

May Day 05:05
Whose side are you on? Whose side are you on? We’re in the eye of the storm So tell me whose side are you? Johnny Hobbes It’s like we live just to fight Efforts to re-kindle the light Descend to pillage and plight Of lose ends in their village in spite Being made in the image and like Of God, but the dim of the night is strong And the day’s not so bright, hold on, cause we’re in for a fight It’s prolonged cause no dark means no light, You’ll go wrong before you go right No gain ‘til you know plight No day ‘til we get through this night This pains a bitch and it tends to bite We could switch but seem to enjoy the fight So for our fix we remain antagonized Foolish governed by a will to die We knew this but still chose to rely Newness brought on by acquired desire Point and shoot kill the hope burning inside With your fire spray it dead in our eyes, Don’t lie, does it hurt to kill your own? Children as they fight what you have grown into And love that which you are known to misuse, bring hope passion and love? You bring a pistol, that’s the issue, we fight for you, but you fight us So the love fades to dry dust, under weight of the lost trust Fear is cold to the touch, like the tinge, of your handcuffs With no justice, just rough cuts, one day we might just, be righteous Lenses This is not the time to be afraid (Take for granted) No, I can hardly wait Oh to be displayed (Take for granted) Public disappointment This is not the Eden it was supposed to be (Take for granted) I was given life for free No entry fee (Take for granted) (So we rise up) Whose side are you on? Whose side are you on? (So we rise up) We’re in the eye of the storm Whose side are you? (So we rise up) Whose side are you on? Whose side are you on? (So we rise up) We’re in the eye of the storm Whose side are you? Johnny Hobbes History is plagued by those denied freedom Block it now, but in time you will need it What goes around comes around our destiny is a cycle Know your end is mine when you fire your rifle I wish this duality was just an appearance but it’s crunch time So choose your allegiance People or Profits, Real vs Abstracted you’ve lambasted your prophets For transactions and profits, pensions a tiny office, your henchmen So let’s be honest, your tension with our progress, is all guessin’ And requires a lesson in economics This system you protect not more than an empty promise Broken for centuries by legacies of forefathers yet their ideas You so desperately cling to, and destroy the world in the process You don’t mean to (but you seem to) But we’re on our way to change course, every era’s advance Has a paid cost, and we pay that cost every time you enforce The interest of a few with no remorse, Despite of what you do we’re of the same source, whether you read it in a book Or see it when you look in our eyes, humanity’s estranged divorce Is at an end, you represent a dying horse, in the age of the engine All this fear and aggression will get us nowhere so take care And heed our lesson and stay clear as we lay the seeds of progression Cause your greed and obsession, causes bleeding recession of life When we ask whose side are you on, know it’s rhetorical, there’s only one side come on. Lenses Everyday I wake up it's the same (Take for granted) Oh I must play the game Drop bombs when they call my name (Take for granted) We are not alone This is not the way that things are supposed to be (Take for granted) We were given eyes to see We have no enemies (Take for granted) (So we rise up) Chorus

Soliloquy 06:37
This is my Soliloquy That means the depths of mind are audible And with it I got plans to accomplish the impossible Rewrite history with a story and a pen And at the same time pay homage to where the story began But now it's my time, and I plan to use it to the fullest, Heal the hearts of broken prisoners, dreams clouded by illness And this system we're surrounded by fuels our sickness We are the product of our own evil, gone is the innocence At first our enemy lied within, 'til we nurtured it with pain so it can rise again Now this same pain can give us strength and inspire an end To the inhuman the brain drain and the geopolitikin Yea there's power in love, but the opposite is dominate Until we re-define wealth the former's value's counterfeit, It's okay to have a thing but not okay to honor it, We have so many enemies but the fight's within our consciousness So we fight and grab our own souls, praying and wishing But they just do their own thing, no matter how we hit them I can help you fight that fight, find that light that lies inside If you think you're ready, I can take you on a journey The most important in your entire life Getting rid of baggage, so you only need to pack light A few remedies for memories, that keep us up at night Watch us as our spirits take flight, the revolution starts tonight Chorus When you're lost and cold, and have run out of hope Just wait, look inside you, you'll find the strength to cope But it's hard to help others when you have your own demons to tackle Back in forth in the heat of the battle, and those skeletons that were in the closet You now lease to, got them paying half of the mortgage, until you wake up One morning and find you need them shits, a parasitic bond has become symbiotic And you can no longer tell who belongs in the closet, they're in the business of your sorrow your angst is their profit, and you're their number one consumer Self pity measures interest rates, ‘til you find one day You're at a new debt, you hate that you hate, but it's all that helps 'til seeing your own blood is a rush within itself So you pierce your skin like your heart to watch the pain drain The light and the dark, just look like the same thing And those that don't get it keep saying the same thing "What is this, where'd you get it from?" Makes you wanna go get a gun, and stick it to your damn brain But in the mist of all this, you know you're worth more Your legs crumble head buckles knees drop to the floor And when the dust settles you'll be standing tall through it all Chorus Now the battle’s being waged on two fronts All you can do is wait for the day the truth comes And when it does, stand tall you move once You'll be outflanked by the passion to use guns Consumed by the hatred, envy, fear, indifference and self loathing Governments wage war while people are left hoping Saturated by greed, until he's left soaking Drowning in his money, murdered by all he's owning Success for the sake of success is failure, 'til we get this, we are detained and the jailer, Constrained and the bailiff our hopes in bondage And our lives pass by as we daydream Our futures will never come back to the past Where we've hid, they've gone forever and took our lives as victims Now we're lifeless, guessing where our lives went with them Something with no trail but resides within That's the beauty of it, we used to love it Something so simple can die and revive Nothing short of a miracle as it tries to survive I find myself looking up idolizing the skies Remembering the coldest winters, and the darkest nights Without them, what would I do with the light? And I realize, any time my soul is in pain Appreciate it, nothing can grown without rain Chorus

about

“Grind Beneath the Grind” refers to two grinds. The first is an inner struggle: It is my evolving personal relationship with music: from denying it as my destiny to actively choosing to pursue it as a career.

The second is an outer struggle with literally surviving on this planet. While I may want to work on music all day to make this world a better place, that doesn’t mean the world is ready to let me. I have bills and expenses to pay, jobs to work, and a life to continue living, while continuing to pursue by dreams.

“Grind Beneath The Grind” is the struggle of ‘you vs. yourself’ or ‘you vs the world’ to fulfill a destiny. This “hanging” between – the life you want to live – and life you’re “supposed” to live, attracted me to the “The Hanged Man” archetype.

The Hanged Man is the 12th card in the tarot. The depiction of him hanging upside down symbolizes his suspension of judgment, worldly desires, and the constant wants of the ego. Though his suspension is rooted in spirituality, he is still a product of this world and has to maintain a balance, "dangling", with wholeness while living in a world of manufactured individual-s/ism. When you are hanging upside down you have an inverted view of what's around you. This different perspective assists you in maneuvering through the many Grinds life to offer.
